I'm In: Fall Cohort at Moshava Art

I'm officially a member of Moshava Art's fall 2026 cohort. Six visual artists were selected for a three-month mini-residency, and I'm one of them.

Here's what that means, practically. From August through October 2026, I get shared studio access, feedback sessions with working art professionals, and a spot in a small community of artists building toward the same deadline. It culminates in a group exhibition, tentatively opening September 10th at Moshava's West 8th Street gallery. Six weeks, open to the public. Artists keep 100% of sales.

The Theme: Tradition

The prompt Moshava gave the cohort is deliberately wide open. What do we take up, and what do we pass down? Which daily or annual rituals came from family of origin, and which ones are ours alone? Where's the line between religion and ritual? What counts as secular tradition? How does color or texture carry tradition forward, and how do our own customs shape the way we make work in the first place?

That last question is the one I'm sitting with most. My practice already works with secondhand clothing, garments other people wore, laundered, mended, discarded. That's tradition made material: inherited fabric, inherited use, cut apart and reassembled into something new. I didn't choose this theme, but it lines up with work I'm already doing.

What's Next

Three months of studio time, dinners with the team and fellow cohort artists, and a public show at the end of it. This is my second group exhibition in New York. I'll be documenting the process as I go.
