Bio

Daniel FlahiffI’m an artist, athlete, activist and adventurer based in Seattle, Washington.

My artwork has been exhibited in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, NYC, Los Angeles and Seattle. I’ve been honored with a few awards for which I am deeply grateful, and my work is held in numerous private collections (not just the living rooms my friends and family, though that’s pretty cool too.)

I’ve cycled in Death Valley, snorkled in the Sea of Cortez, summited Mount Rainier, flown in a biplane over  the Puget Sound Salish Sea, run races in the Cascade Mountains, fished for salmon in British Columbia, canoed in the Rocky Mountains and surfed in Southern California. Oh, and I’ve driven a jeep to the Hotel California in Mexico, rock climbed in Joshua Tree, skied and boarded in the Sierra Nevada and backpacked in the Grand Canyon.

As an activist, I’m an advocate for World Bicycle Relief (WBR), a great organization dedicated to “providing access to independence and livelihood through the power of bicycles.” Cycling changed my life, and through WBR, just $134 gets a child a bike which can mean the difference between getting an education, or staying at home. I raise money for WBR every day just by logging my physical activities on Plus3Network. You can too! Check them out, they have one of the most awesome business plans on the planet!

Here in Seattle I’m a partner at Big Fig Design where I wear many hats including designer, photographer and copywriter. I also write about sustainable design for Worldchanging.com and Inhabitat.com.
